Answer

Employees are expected to dress in an appropriate manner while on the job and project a professional attitude and appearance to the public and their peers. We expect all employees to adhere to good standards of personal appearance and hygiene. Clothing should not restrict or limit your ability to work. All clothing should be neat and clean and undergarments are not to be exposed. Footwear must be worn at all times. If a student assistant reports to work with clothing that is deemed inappropriate, they will be asked to leave and will not be allowed to make up any missed work hours.

The following items are NOT considered to be appropriate work attire:

  • Bandanas, visors, head scarves, hats, or other headwear (unless they are being worn for medical or religious reasons)
  • Spaghetti strapped tops, tube tops, halter tops or muscle shirts
  • Bare midriffs
  • Extremely short shorts or miniskirts
  • Pajama-type pants
  • Clothing with offensive words or pictures
  • Ripped or torn clothes
